Can I please give a big should out to the ENTERTAINER?
Please?
When you live on your own and Ramadan comes along, you go out a lot to have iftar with friends. I think it’s becoming a bit less this year as I might have matured a bit? Or let’s say, eating at home helps me indulge in the sound of nothing after a long hectic day at work.
If you aren’t living in the countries, in which the entertainer operates, you might be wondering what is it?
It’s an application on which you subscribe to, and get it for free if you are HSBC customer. It gives you offers buy 1 and get 1 free on main meals or two for the price of one, not for all restaurants, but it does offer a great amount of diversity. The offers are not just about food, you get the same for hotel nights, car rentals, etc. The food though is the most popular offer we usually go for.
I know people who plan their outings on the entertainer as it saves them a whole amount of money. I wasn’t one of those. I chose the restaurant and if it did happen and have an entertainer offer, I am happy to use it.
This Ramadan though I have gone out twice to a 3-course set menu iftar, and when the bill came, I was utterly delighted. It was on the entertainer! I guess I paid much less than what I would have paid if I did buy the ingredients from the supermarket and cooked, or at least that was my perception. One of the outings was in a 5-star hotel. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. I was thinking if I did order food online, which I do because I don’t have time to cook, I would have paid the same exact amount! …but now, actually, I am getting 5-star hotel service on top of that. What not to like?
Here is a quick peek of my break the fast, fancy dates and milk. Did you see the plates? And the date garnish?
In case you are wondering, it was a Korean restaurant called Namu.
I remember last year… and the year before that, I have spent a ton of money in Ramadan for iftar outings. None of them were on the entertainer… but, I guess this year, I will have a look before deciding where to go. Who wants to pass out on great offers in fancy restaurants… that literally cost as much or a little more than what I would have normally paid for my lunch?
